NEWS UPDATE AUGUST 2014
Well August is upon us and everyone is struggling to get their matches in before the deadlines! The Barnham Triples are underway and you all should have received a copy of your playing dates from the team "correspondent" so don't forget to check your commitments and put the dates in your diary. Remember if you can't play on one of your allocated dates to make sure you find a replacement and if possible let your "correspondent" know. We will try to get the details of the matches on this site shortly. It's great to have our friends from Ashford join us for the competition this year adding a little more edge to what was already a keenly fought out competition!
Hot off the press!!
Cecil Gets Prodigious "Surrey Leopard" Award
Cecil Lucas life member of Leatherhead Bowling Club has received the "Surrey Leopard" award for outstanding services to bowling in Surrey and in particular his services to our club at Leatherhead. Cecil has been a member at Leatherhead since 1987and has served as captain, and president and is at present vice president. His citation noted in particular his services to the maintenance of the club buildings and grounds with his organisation of the "groundlings" working at the club every Wednesday morning. The award was kept as a closely guarded secret known only to his wife and few selected club members so it came as a complete surprise to Cecil when he presented with his badges and certificate by the President of The Surrey County Bowling Association Robin Taylor. Pictures of the this wonderful celebration of Cecil's outstanding contribution life of our club can be seen by clicking here.
