The 2018 bowling season starts on Saturday 14th April and runs through to Saturday 22nd September.

 

Friendly matches are played throughout the season against other local clubs and we also play in several leagues for Men and Ladies. Friendly matches and League games are usually followed by tea and there is a chance to socialise after the game if you so wish. These matches are listed on our Fixtures List

 

We also have internal competitions that you can enter and in late August there is a Finals Weekend. Members may choose to bowl casually (we call it a 'roll up'). This is where members simply turn-up for informal games with other Club members. We also have a weekly “spoon drive” where mixed teams bowl for a silver tea spoon. The spoon drives are deliberately informal. Spoon drives are held on Tuesdays through May and Wednesdays for the rest of the season. Please note that the club house, toilets and changing rooms will close at the end of July due to the re-build.  Members must clear their lockers and remove all personal items.  Temporary toilet will be available on site until the end of the season.

 

Our annual dinner dance and prize giving is held in November and takes place at Tyrrells Wood Golf Club.

 

We are a mixed Club and are always looking for new members both experienced and beginners.  If you have never bowled before, don't worry as there is plenty of help and we have qualified coaches on hand. Bowling is fun, very social, and a good place to make new friends. Initially you do not require anything other than a pair of flat soled shoes as we will supply the bowls.  Before you join the club we allow you to have a month's trial to see if you enjoy it.  After that it's up to you.
